Scope and who is responsible

This Privacy Notice applies to the public website operated by The Zorkin Firm, Law Corporation (“the firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It describes the personal information the website may collect, the sources of that information, how it is used and disclosed, how long it may be retained, and choices and rights that may apply. The firm is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. This notice does not govern information handled in an attorney-client relationship, which is subject to separate professional and legal obligations.

Information we collect

Information you provide. If you use the contact form, call, email, or otherwise communicate with the firm, we may receive identifiers and professional or matter-related information, including your name, organization, email address, telephone number, matter type, adverse-party information, message, and any other information you choose to provide. Do not submit confidential, privileged, or time-sensitive information before the firm confirms an engagement in writing.

Technical and usage information. Our hosting, security, and network providers may process IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring page, date and time, approximate location derived from IP address, and security or diagnostic events. This information is used to deliver, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the site.

Campaign and referral information. A link to the site may contain standard campaign parameters or advertising click identifiers. Those values may be included with a contact-form submission so the firm can understand which advertisement or referral produced an inquiry. The site does not retain those values in browser session storage unless you permit optional advertising storage.

Privacy preferences. We use necessary local browser storage to remember the choices you make in the cookie-preferences tool and to honor a supported Global Privacy Control signal.

Sources of information

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device, from the page or service that referred you to the site, and from service providers that host, secure, or deliver the site and its forms.

How we use information

• To respond to inquiries and conduct preliminary conflict checks.
• To communicate with prospective and existing clients.
• To provide, secure, maintain, diagnose, and improve the website.
• To understand referral and advertising performance when permitted.
• To prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents.
• To comply with legal and professional obligations and protect legal rights.

How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to vendors that provide hosting, form processing, security, email, information-technology, professional, analytics, or advertising services; to professional advisers; to authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety; and in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the firm’s business, subject to applicable duties. Vendors are expected to process information only for authorized purposes and under appropriate contractual or legal restrictions.

Netlify hosting and forms

The site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may process routine server-log, security, and diagnostic information. If you submit the contact form, Netlify Forms processes the submission and may apply spam and abuse controls before transmitting the inquiry to the firm. Netlify’s own privacy and data-processing terms govern Netlify’s role as a service provider.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses necessary browser storage to operate the privacy-preferences tool and may use session storage for campaign attribution only when permitted. The site does not currently load non-essential analytics or advertising tags. If the firm later enables them, they will be configured to respect the preferences available through the banner before non-essential storage or tracking is activated.

You may accept, reject, or customize optional categories through the banner or reopen the tool at any time by selecting Cookie Settings. Rejecting optional technologies will not prevent access to the site.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because browsers do not implement a uniform “Do Not Track” standard, the site does not respond to legacy Do Not Track signals. The site does recognize a supported Global Privacy Control signal and treats it as a direction not to enable optional advertising storage. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

No third party currently collects personally identifiable information through this site over time and across unaffiliated websites for behavioral advertising. If that practice changes, this notice and the site’s consent controls will be updated before optional tracking is enabled.

Retention

Contact and conflict-check information may be retained as reasonably necessary to evaluate an inquiry, document conflicts, comply with professional and legal obligations, protect against disputes, and maintain business records. Technical logs and security records are generally retained for the period reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, and service administration. Privacy preferences remain in your browser until you clear them or change your selection. Retention may be extended when required by law, litigation hold, or another legitimate need.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information and the website. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use the contact form only for the limited information needed to request a conflict check.

California privacy disclosures and rights

California’s Online Privacy Protection Act requires commercial websites that collect personally identifiable information from California consumers to describe their collection, disclosure, change-notice, effective-date, and tracking practices. This notice is intended to provide those disclosures.

To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to particular information or activity, a California resident may have rights to know or access personal information, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service without unlawful discrimination. The firm does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Visitors outside California

If another privacy law applies to our processing of your personal information, you may have additional rights, such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Where required, processing is based on consent, steps requested before entering an engagement, legitimate interests in operating and securing the site and responding to inquiries, legal obligations, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. Information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Children

The website is directed to businesses and adults seeking legal information or representation. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site.

Your choices and requests

You may decline to use the contact form and contact the firm by telephone instead. You may clear browser storage, change cookie preferences, enable a supported Global Privacy Control signal, or ask questions and submit an applicable privacy request using the contact information below.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in the website, vendors, legal requirements, or privacy practices. A material update will be identified by a revised date and, when appropriate, an additional notice on the site.
